How far is it?
About 20 minutes by scooter or car via the coastal road through Higuera Blanca. San Pancho is about 10 minutes beyond Sayulita.
Best way to get there
- Scooter: the local favorite. Easy parking, no traffic stress, and racks for your board. Our 24-hour rental is $85 USD ($1,275 MXN).
- Taxi: available, but you'll need one back too, and evening rides add up.
- Golf cart: great for short rides around town; the scooter is better for the highway to Sayulita.
Parking tips
Sayulita streets are tight. Park only in marked spots and never on yellow lines — police do ticket and remove plates, and fines are the rider's responsibility.
A simple day plan
- Morning: coffee in Punta de Mita, then ride north.
- Late morning: surf or swim at Sayulita's main beach.
- Lunch: street tacos around the plaza.
- Afternoon: continue to San Pancho for a slower vibe.
- Sunset: ride back to Punta de Mita before dark.
